Creative Michigan Votes
2018 Elections Hub
YOUR VOTE MATTERS
A strong Michigan will cultivate the creative industries as a central part of the state’s efforts to diversify and build a thriving 21st century economy.
Together, we can change the way our state’s political leaders value the contributions and support the needs of those who make Michigan a more creative and dynamic place to live, work and explore.
While Creative Many Michigan does not endorse candidates for office, we are committed to provide a platform that connects voters and candidates to issues impacting the creative community through the Creative Michigan Votes: Elections Hub.
This election season, we will do our best to partner with local organizations and individuals who are committed to help us reach candidates in their cities by emailing or calling candidates about the importance of our Candidate Questionnaire.
GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE MEMOS
Creative Many generated Arts Memos for both candidates running for governor in the 2018 election. Information was collected using publicly available sources as well as the candidates own platforms and include any quotes, actions, or plans related to the arts and culture in Michigan. Both candidates vying to serve as Michigan’s next governor have responded to CMM’s candidate questionnaire. Responses are as follows:
The Creative Michigan Votes Candidate Questionnaire is an opportunity for candidates and constituents to start a dialogue on the role of the creative industries in communities across Michigan. The Candidate Questionnaire consists of seven short-answer questions candidates running for U.S. Congress, the Michigan Senate or House of Representatives are invited to complete.
Reach Out: Contact your candidates and encourage them to respond to the Candidate Questionnaire. Read the FAQs for more information.
- See the attached sample email to request a candidate complete the questionnaire.
- Find the names and addresses of all candidates.
Read & Respond: Creative Many encourages stakeholders to review, share, and discuss survey results with their friends, neighbors and colleagues through email, social media, and by raising survey questions at public candidate forums in their community.
Your constituents care about the health of the creative sector. Creative Many is here to inform you on the impact and connect you to the voters in your community.
